This paper compares how Brazil and Chile, two countries guided by neoliberalism, acted against the coronavirus pandemic. At first, there is a brief contextualization of the political and social situation of both nations. Next, the normative measures that each government issued in the face of the social and economic chaos imposed by the pandemic are analysed. The Chilean economic scenario is deepened when we discuss the neoliberal heritage that the country must face. We investigated more closely the structure of that country's legal system, as well as the bonds that the current Constitution imposes for its development, preventing the social protection of its citizens. Finally, in view of the recent Chilean popular mobilizations, we reflect on its meaning, identifying paths of solidarity that the Chilean people are building.
